this & that

hi!
---
i only have random thoughts at the moment, so that means you are up for a random thoughts post.
---
i love warm weather but the other night there was a short clip on the news of a snow storm.  i was giddy.  who knew?!?  our snowboard passes are just staring at us.  maybe that is what caused the excitement.
---
the other day nash just started kicking a ball around. could there be anything that would make his dad more happy??  it's like the skies parted and heaven came down (at least this is the emotion that robert feels when nash randomly started doing this!)  way to go buddy!
---
we went camping over labor day weekend.  lots of food, family, and no showers.  our dog was black by the time we got home.  we were totally unplugged from the outside world.  it felt good to have no access to anyone or anything outside of the people and things that surrounded us at that exact moment.  no technology is a sigh of relief at times.
don't you agree?
---
nash should currently be napping.  instead he is talking and staring into the camera.
it's like he knows i can see him.... weird.
---
i cannot wait to see this.  can you???
---
i am currently in the process of putting a video together of the "nash picture a day" project.
---
we did some traveling this summer and i still have it on my "to do" list to blog about our adventures.
---
how was your labor day weekend??

camping

our family went camping over the 4th.  it was our first time camping with nash.  i figured he would do well because he is a great baby but you never know.  camping and a baby don't really seem to fit well together in a sentence!  but alas, it went smooth.  smooth as peanut butter.
we swam, and played, cooked, and ate, chatted, and enjoyed each other.
we even took nash with us when we road the 4wheelers.  he loved it.
although, we did get caught in a crazy rain storm!  i saw a storm off in the distance and secretly i wished we would get rained on.  ha.  well i might have second guessed that decision when the rain drops were pelting us like rocks.  it was still fun and thankfully i had a light blanket packed with us so i could cover nash up.  he thoroughly enjoyed the rain storm and was laughing under the blanket as we were racing back to the campsite as fast as possible.  lucky baby had cover from the crazy storm!
we came back to our campsite to find our tent not in the spot it was when we left.  yes.  true.
we both had a small freak out inside.
our camping neighbors quickly came over and said they had wrangled our tent but it was completely upside down with our stuff everywhere inside of it.  pack n play, bags, clothes, air mattress, bedding.
all i could do was laugh.
robert got everything fixed and put back together.  he is a gem.
i love camping.  it takes you outside for days on end.  it brings you together with family.
you get to enjoy each other and the outdoors.
what could be better?

a peek at our weekend.

--we went to a real salt lake game, like we do most weekends these days --

--i attempted to go to something where i might meet some new friends.  my phone died and i got lost.  back home i went.  that sucked.  i can't imagine living without my phone simply for its gps capabilities   i could have cried and laughed at the same time. --

--i put nash in the nursery at church for the first time.  i know, he is ten months.  it was overdue. --

--my house got hit by a tornado.  the weekend tornado of chaos. --

--robert installed a sprinkler system in our garden.  i got a lesson on the fact that some things have to just look functional and not pretty.  :) --

--we spent sunday with family.  it was a fun day and i am constantly remembering how much i love living close to family. --
(and then it makes me sad for the rest of my family and friends i don't live close to)

--we watched a few episodes of game of thrones.  we are addicted around here.--

--i spent a few hours with just my mom.  that always makes for a good afternoon.--

i hope you enjoyed your weekend!

his first father's day.

we celebrated robert yesterday and he is so deserving of it.
he actually deserves to be celebrated as being a dad more than just one day a year.
me and nash, we are so lucky and blessed to have robert in our lives.
  he is so selfless.
he wants the best for both of us.
he provides and does it with a giving heart.
he is so fun and full of energy.
he always has a smile on his face.  we love that.
i just love to see the two of them together and the sweet bond that they have.
he is our guy.
nash is constantly saying "oooooooooooooo" and making this face.  he makes us laugh.

we are so...
and here are some little "outtakes".  it is HARD to get a picture of nash these days.  i take tons to get a few decent ones.  then throw a few more people in the pictures in with nash and it is that much harder to get a good picture!  i love these pictures so much also because you can see his little personality but these types don't get shared as much!

catch up

yes i MUCH needed catch up post!
somehow taking a few days not blogging turned into a few weeks.
i've missed it and i am back.  hopefully!

it really feels summery now.  sunny and hot! yard work. gardening. camping. walks. bike rides.
i am loving it.
we have been spending time outside for all of these reasons!
nash can ride in shopping carts now and he is so cute to me in them.
he always fusses about me putting him in there at first but once we get moving he usually loves it.
he looks so little when he is riding in the cart.  i like that!
my parents went camping a few weekends ago.  we really didn't camp but we went and invaded their campsite for an evening and enjoyed dinner cooked over the fire.  we do have plans to go camping over the 4th of july!  we are looking forward to that.
of course we have been to  a ton of real salt lake games!  they have  had so many home games lately.  nash is a pro at sporting these sunglasses.  it cracks us up and everyone that sees him.  usually people are constantly pointing and making comments about him because it is the funniest thing.

we got nash a bike seat for my bike and have enjoyed our first few rides together!  it is nice to have the seat in front of me so i can easily talk to him.  i have such fond memories of when i was a kid riding on my dad's bike.  i wanted to be sure to give nash those same sweet memories that i have.
lots of time outside on the weekends.

we have been spending a day or two a week at my mom's house.  we so love having family close.   we recently had our first pasta night and i think it will be a bi-weekly thing!    i think it is such a good thing to establish family traditions and i think this one might be a good one!
