when we updated our house this past year I was wanting
to do some sort of design on one wall.
wallpaper can be expensive.
we have one wall that i used wallpaper on and i
didn't want to have to spend that much again for another wall.
i thought about buying a stencil but then i came across this design that i liked.
my biggest challenge was talking robert into it because
i needed him to draw the design i was wanting
and i needed him to figure all the dimensions out.
i needed his engineering expertise and his ability to use one of his fancy engineering programs.
you should see some of his drawings that he has to do.
he totally impresses me.
so i knew he could make a drawing of what i wanted and figure out the dimensions for me.
a few weeks of nudging and asking and it was done!
next up. taping.
since he is so good at dimensions that was his job too.

it was a long job.
in fact 3 rolls of painters tape long.
he is a gem.
and finally. painting!
a little trick of the trade for you...
if you are painting something like this - paint the base
coat again over the tape before you put the actual color
you are going to use for the final coat.
this basically creates a seal and if there are any bubbles in the
tape or spots where the paint can sneak under...the base coat
will go under creating a seal and not letting the final color seep through.
thus creating a perfect line.
and here it is! a long process but after you are finished
you never seem to really care how many hours it took. :)
